Under the glistening moon
Emotions kept at bay
Was it too soon
To ask to stay
Heartbeats rising
In the heat of the night
An answer so surprising
It's just out of sight
In the midnight hour
It's the flower
Of romance
Let's dance

Bodies entwined
In destined passion
Bodies moving
In rhythmic fashion
Sweet petals falling
Over velvet skin
Breath upon your neck
As we begin
Lost in a trance
It's the dance of romance

Under silken sheets we lay
Your head upon my chest
My breath taken away
From a final kiss
Into your eyes I stare
Searching for a sign
Asking if I dare
To make you mine
In the midnight hour
It's the flower
Of romance
Let's dance

Bodies entwined
In destined passion
Bodies moving
In rhythmic fashion
Sweet petals falling
Over velvet skin
Breath upon your neck
As we begin
Lost in a trance
It's the dance of romance

In the midnight hour
Comes the power
Passion resides
In our eyes
In the midnight hour
It's the flower
Of romance
Let's dance

Bodies entwined
In destined passion
Bodies moving
In rhythmic fashion
Sweet petals falling
Over velvet skin
Breath upon your neck
As we begin
Lost in a trance
It's the dance
Of romance

Author's Comments

Goes in Human Nature because I'm not sure it belongs in Romantic or Erotic. Anyway. I think the words speak for themselves. No reading between the lines necessary. Despite the whole thing of me being too busy for a relationship right now, I think this shows that I still desire a warm body next to me. Erm. Okay. Yeah...I'm just gonna stop right there. Anyway. Inspiration is Sonata Arctica. Footnote: Between the last two lines of each verse, there's a brief pause before the last line.

Well, this sums up everything I want right now. *sigh* That's just me feeling slightly pathetic because I am graduating from high school in a month and I have never dated, so I feel a bit...blah, I guess. But I like this, the way it's written. Sex and romance, soft and light. Like a good, well written (and admittedly rare) romance novel. Which is the closest comparison I have.

Romance novel? 'falls over backwards out of the chair' heh. Never expected that kind of comment. -laughs- 'pokes' And you shouldn't worry about it too much. Alot of people don't date through high school but they eventually find someone. My case, I dated way too much and have nothing to show for it except scars -chuckles-

*is poked, and growls* hey, it was hte best I could do. And bleh, that may be, but it still digs a little. And I'm not worried, it's just....*sigh* Whatever. But yeah, i meant the romance novel thing in a good way. Because I like them. And I like this. :P

-chuckles- I know how ya feel. Haha. I read a romance novel once. Just out of curiosity. Found one of my mom's on a book shelf and was bored so figured, what the hell. It was....interesting to say the least. Given my choice of reading material -chuckles-

I like some romance novels....but not most of them. And nothing harlequin or silhouette or whatever. *iggles* What's your normal choice of reading material?

I read mostly fantasy novels....Tamora Pierce, Mercedes Lackey, and such.

Kai cannot relate... nor can she dance.... T.T
:iconblue-flamedpyro:
I can't relate, but it's very well-written and it reminds me of a scene in a book I'm reading (a little, anyway).

and you can't tell me just who you are
you bought them clothes just to hide those scars
you built that roof just to hide those stars
